Mascus, one of the biggest online marketplaces in the world for the sale of transportation vehicles, construction machinery, agricultural, material-handling equipment and forestry, has reached a major milestone in its growth – 200,000 online advertisements.
“Mascus has celebrated some considerable achievements recently,” says MD Fredrik Larsson. “What makes this even more pleasing is that we’ve doubled the number of adverts, from 100,000 to 200,000, in only 12 months. The speed and size of the increase shows that, despite the economic climate, the combination of global expansion and ongoing technological development is clearly working.”
Mascus in numbers:
- Nearly 4300 companies advertising from around the world
- 200,000 online ads
- Over 2 million unique visitors every month
- Presence in 42 countries worldwide
- 54 Mascus domains in 39 languages
- More than 120 new dealers joining every month
- Over 70 Mascus sales representatives visiting and contacting dealers all over the world
A global brand with strong foundations
Mascus has become not only a truly global brand but also a brand that is creating new markets for dealers and end buyers worldwide. Their global presence is built on extremely strong foundations particularly in the key markets of Germany, UK, France, the U.S and the Nordic Region.
“Our success internationally is rooted in our core markets of Europe and the U.S,” says Managing Director, Fredrik Larsson. “In these markets Mascus is now a well-established and instantly recognised brand among dealers of machinery and vehicles. Our portfolio of services has become an integral part of the used machinery and vehicles market in these territories.”
New services make business better for dealers
Mascus’ commitment to continual improvement of their services has been a key part of their success. Their new platform launched in 2010 and the heavy industry directory, Mascus Locator, now has over 32,000 listings. More recently Mascus launched three new services to help dealers do business more effectively.
The Auction service allows buyers to find machines, trucks or equipment in both offline and online auctions globally while the new Valuator service lets dealers price items quickly and accurately using the best market data available. This is the first time dealers have had an easy-to-use tool to provide accurate market information within minutes. Finally, the Dealer Mobile solution allows dealers to access their stock via mobile devices.
“Our commitment to continually improving user experience and creating new online services is a cornerstone of our success,” says Sales Director Rickard Petersson. “We are always looking at new ways to make life easier for both dealers and end users, so they can improve their business both in local and international markets.”
